Bush supports teaching of "Intelligent Design" theory in schools
(03.08.2005)

George Bush has created some strong debate and criticism, following his comments that alternatives to Darwin's Theory of Evolution should be taught in schools, in particular "intelligent design".

Bush has not said that this should be added to a school's curriculum by federal government, but a decision that should be left to school districts.

Darwin's Theory of Evolution suggests that all life is related and has descended from a common ancestor, and that over a period of time random genetic mutations have taken place, resulting in the different creatures we see today.

The theory of "intelligent design" is to investigate whether or not there is empirical evidence that life on Earth was designed by an intelligent agent or agents.

Critics have said that there is no scientific evidence to support the "intelligent design" theory and no reason to teach it. But the same could be said for religion, there is no scientific evidence to support the existence of a God, yet this has been taught in schools for a very long time.

Some feel that Bush's support of teaching this alternative theory in schools is an attempt to introduce religion back into the equation, perhaps by suggesting that the "intelligent" factor is God? Religious leaders have never been comfortable with the idea that life may have evolved naturally and prefer to promote the theory that some "God" created all life.

Whilst most see the difference between Darwin's theory and intelligent design as science and religion, there is a growing belief that there may be a combination of factors and that the "intelligent design" may not be a "God" in the Biblical sense.

It is our belief that whilst many of the creatures on this planet (including humans) have "changed" through a natural process over many thousands of years, the differences suggest that "outside" manipulation has taken place at some point. Whether you choose to label this "manipulator" as God or some Alien being is a matter of choice.

Religious leaders have conditioned their followers into seeing God as an almost "mystical" being, an old guy with a white beard who can perform magical feats and miracles. But surely, an alien being with incredibly advanced knowledge and technology would be capable of doing all the same things? Why should those who promote religion object so strongly to the possibility that God may be an Alien?

If an Alien being (or beings) watches over us, can hear our thoughts and has the power to control natural forces and our destinies, does it really matter what name we give this being?

Sadly religion seems to have lost its way, but rather than inject a more modern (and more realistic) approach to religion, its leaders continue to force this ancient tradition onto its followers, even though many find it hard to accept the Biblical version of God, Jesus and Angels. It is almost like trying to make adults believe that Father Christmas exists and travels around on a sleigh!

We are not suggesting that an all powerful being does not exist, on the contrary, we believe that such beings (plural) do indeed exist and have played an important part in our planets development from a very early time. If you take a closer (open-minded) look at the Bible, you will see many references to what we commonly call UFOs (clouds in the sky that hover and so on). Many old paintings include images of objects that are clearly UFOs (what else could they be?).

If we accept that God or an Alien being could be one and the same, surely this is a good thing? We do not need to abandon the principles connected with religion (good and evil), if anything we can embrace them even more. We would no longer have a situation of believers and non-believers and perhaps, for the first time in our history, we might actually be able to share a common belief? We see no reason why people should "worship" a more powerful being (respect certainly), pray or get down on their knees. Would we expect creatures less intelligent than ourselves to do this for us?

We have recently been publishing articles related to the "End of Times" (End of Times 2006 - UFOs and Star people or Chariots and Jesus?) and one of the points we have raised is, how will people react when the truth is known? If we are to believe that God or an Alien will save some of us when the end comes, will a believer refuse to be saved if their God turns out to be an Alien? And will a non-believer react in the same way if they discover that the Alien they were expecting, is really a God as described in the Bible? Or will both accept whatever option appears and be grateful?

Yes, they should, but we must not automatically put labels on them as there is no real evidence to support any of them (that's why they are called theories!). However, we can not escape the fact that during the last 50 or so years there have been many thousands of UFO sightings all over the world, some supported by photographs and video clips. But we have not seen any reports of this nature related to God and religion since the Bible was written and this tends to place the scientific option in the lead.

Until we know the truth (beyond any doubt), we should always keep our minds open and accept all possibilities. One of these versions is correct, but are you prepared to stake your life on which one?
