Tropical Storm Katrina heading
for Florida Coast
(25.08.2005)
As Tropical Storm Katrina moves closer to Florida's Atlantic coast,
officials have issued a hurricane watch.
Katrina
is currently producing winds of up to 45 mph and moving north-northwest.
The storm is presently 185 miles from the southeastern Florida coast
and is expected to later turn west-northwest or west. Its arrival
at the Florida coast is forecast for Friday morning.
Forecasters have said that the number of storms this season will
be higher than previously predicted, perhaps producing as many as
21 tropical storms, half of which may become hurricanes.
