Understanding the alien psyche and the challenges of meaningful communication

Whilst our new Forum covers many subjects, we are always interested in exploring topics that involve UFO's, Aliens and life beyond our own planet.

We would therefore like to publish a recent post made by one of our members (Neon) and invite you to add your own thoughts to this.

A topic that has been the object of much speculation and quite a few uncorroborated claims, is the one about who the aliens are and their motives for being here. Giving the UFO occupants characteristics similar to terrestrial humans have caused much fear, with fantasies of hostile, predatory beings that are planning to take over the planet or even use humans as a food source.
It is not strange that such wild speculation gets a foothold, considering our recent historical past of war and conquest, not to mention our present practice of hunting wild animals and keeping domesticated ones for food and clothing.

We naturally view the world through glasses colored by our own experiences. And as it is hard to imagine what our own planetary civilization would be like in a few thousand years if it were to survive and evolve, how much more difficult will it not be to fathom what it would look and feel like hundred of thousands or even millions of years ahead?

It is needless to say that this topic, considering our natural points of view, invites lots of wild speculation, guesses as well as philosophical pondering and logical deductions based on the few “facts” we may come up with.
I do nevertheless hope that it will be one that invites participation by people from a broad specter of backgrounds and that our creative imagination will flow wild and freely.

A few attempts from some of my own posts touching upon this subject:

“One can imagine several reasons why alien visitors are keeping their distance when observing and/or covertly interacting with earthly life forms:

They may be on a specific mission or missions, obtaining substances needed for their own upkeep and benefit, not having any desire to waste time while interacting with lesser life-forms, or they may simply use the planet as a base for other missions in the galactic neighborhood.
But still, in recognition of our limited evolvement and fears, they may be considerate enough to avoid creating havoc by operating as stealth as possible, or be doing so for their own safety, considering our fearful, aggressive nature.

They may be related to some cosmic cultures that have been taking part in “seeding” and nursing this planet to life in the past, continuing their tasks as overseers of the planetary evolution and wellbeing, while being perfectly aware of the relatively great distance that exists between their own perspectives of Life and that of, to them, still primitive, earthly cultures. In this scenario, one can of course question the motives for their work and continued presence here, giving them an earthly, selfish motivation while speculating, or one can imagine that their own evolution has taken them to a point where all their actions are guided by a constant awareness of the Oneness of All Life, making all their actions selfless and joyous expressions of creation in harmony with That All.
If so, they will not distinguish between our spiritual and mental/physical evolvement, and the range of stealth interaction with Earth will be a broad and continuing one.”

“If we assume that some of the phenomena observed represents the presence of cultures much more advanced than ours, we must also draw the logical conclusion that their advanced development has more aspects to it than a mere technological one, namely one of awareness and psyche. So, to even attempt to answer such a question to anyone’s satisfaction one need to dear venture into realms and topics “not backed up by present day science,””

“Suppose The Universe was a Singular, Living Being in which We All live and move. Would it not be logical that individuals of an ancient civilization have discovered/realized this ages ago?
And if so (all hypothetically), would they not have drawn the logical conclusion that all individual life was the expression of the Universal One and thus identified themselves with the One (just suggesting here, not being certain:)? If so, they would probably view other, “lower” life forms as expressions of The Universal Being (their own Innermost Nature) and treat them with respect. If they believed in evolution, they would possibly view beings on a lower step of the evolutionary ladder as their own "past" and those above as their "future."
If this hypothesis is correct, the aliens observing us, seeing their own “past,” may very well be engaged in nursing it, while we're getting glimpses of the “future” we’re approaching. Is this sounding too far fetched?”
