Are the FBI involved in mass mailing
of anti-Islamic cartoons? A report by the Washington Post has revealed that a mass mailing has taken place using text messages on mobile phones and blogs. In one message there was a warning that Danish people were planning to burn the Koran that Saturday in Copenhagen's City Hall Square. The burning did not take place, but a number of people turned up in the belief that it would happen and 179 people were arrested. The messages were received by people all over the world, but mainly by Muslims, and the question most may ask is how did the anonymous sender(s) know which numbers to send the messages to? It may not be so difficult to find a few numbers to send messages to, but how would anyone know the religion of the receiver? And how many people have the knowledge or ability to do this? It certainly looks as if the sender (or senders) are few in number, people who have a good idea of where to obtain these numbers and how best to do it. Certainly not the work of the average mobile phone user we think. Oddly enough, the FBI were involved in a similar tactic some years ago, when they mass mailed a "coloring book" across America and led people to believe that this was the work of the Black Panthers. The colouring book displayed images that were designed to be offensive to white people and this affected their opinion. Whilst it did not prevent the rights of Black Panthers to free speech, it effectively stopped anyone listening. As the US government constantly monitor sites that they feel might be supportive of views that they do not approve of, they are perhaps the most obvious target for an organization that would have the information needed to carry out a mass mailing of this scale. Thankfully, many of the "alternative" sites are quick to notice things of this nature and usually follow their instincts of "If it doesn't look right, then it probably isn't". Many website owners know how to attract visitors to their site, and whilst mass mailing in this form may not be to everyones taste, you can be sure some would use it if they thought it would help an important issue. However, we are not aware of any site promoting an argument in this way (or scale) and immediately suspect the hand of a much larger organization, who have access to information that can select mobile telephones owned by Muslim's. The anti-Islamic cartoons have the mark of the Bush administration
written all over them and we hope that the Muslim community will not
allow themselves to be fooled into taking the bait. We urge them to
make their protests through the proper channels and keep their responses
legal. As many Bush supporting "activists" may infiltrate
demonstrations, it would Just like the "coloring book" trick used by the FBI before, the "cartoons" are designed to create hatred towards all Muslim's. If the Muslim reaction is one of calm and peace, this will increase the respect and support they have in the rest of the world. These are important and dangerous times, and the wrong response now could decide the future. Let's not be fooled by these cheap tricks and allow Bush and his gang to gain any more victories over human rights. The sooner we accept the real motives of the Bush administration, the sooner he will be stopped and thrown out of office. The only problem then is finding a replacement government that is not controlled by the real power people in the US. But this must be done one step at a time.
