Britney Spears risking her baby for a few photos

Britney Spears has probably attracted a few more hundred "opps i did it again" headlines with her latest and most stupid mistake to date, driving her car with her 5-month-old baby, Sean, on her lap.

Although she appears to have escaped any police action for putting her son's life at risk, she certainly hasn't won any new friends with this foolish prank.

Apparently, the incident happened because of a "frightful encounter with the paparazzi." After stopping at a Starbucks shop to let her bodyguard go inside, a "swarm" of photographers appeared and she apparently became frightened for her son's life.

Of course, like any caring mother, she decides not to strap her son into the special seat, but to place him on her knee and drive off. One hand on the steering wheel and the other arm around her baby.

Should the car have been involved in a crash, two things could have happened. Firstly, if the airbag did not deploy for any reason, her son would have been crushed against the wheel or dashboard. Secondly, if the airbag did deploy, little Sean could have probably suffocated. Either way, there was a serious risk to her child, which could have cost him his life.

But was Britney Spears really concerned for her son's safety, or was this another case of not letting photographers get some photos for free?

In a statement Spears said "I had a horrifying, frightful encounter with the paparazzi while I was with my baby," She said Monday's episode reminded her of an incident last summer in which she was "trapped" in her car by a throng of photographers. "I instinctively took measures to get my baby and me out of harm's way, but the paparazzi continued to stalk us, and took photos of us which were sold to the media," she said. "I love my child and would do anything to protect him."

Was she more worried about the paparazzi continuing to stalk her and baby Sean, or more concerned that they would take photos "which were sold to the media"? Why is this woman so obsessed by photos and the money they make, hasn't she made enough money from her fans that she needs to squeeze them for every last dollar?

Maybe her fans should consider supporting someone else who deserves their cash more like Shakira, an artist with a great deal more talent, more intelligent and much sexier too!
