Winter Olympics may be target for new 9/11

With the latest uproar over anti-Islamic cartoons and mobile phone messages designed to create a hatred for Muslim's in Europe, and generally give the impression to the world that they are aggressive and spoiling for a fight, what better target than the Winter Olympics to create a new 9/11?

If this cartoon tactic is designed to create anger in Europe, as we suspect it is, then a European target would be favourite to hammer home the message. Of course, the "attack" will be organized by the same people who carried out the 9/11 (not bin Laden and the gang!). Everyone knows that people closely connected to the Bush administration were behind the original 9/11 and that the planes did not bring down the towers (these were demolished with controlled explosions).

Many believe that Bush intends to carry out an attack on Iran in March (or thereabouts) and has been hoping to do this since last summer. Convincing the American people that Muslim's are the bad guys is not difficult and many still believe that Osama bin Laden was behind the Trade Center attack. But the Europeans were not so easy to convince that the invasion of Afghanistan and Iraq was the right course to take.

It therefore makes sense that the people who need persuading are the Europeans, and an attack at the games that targets them (and Americans) may be just enough to eliminate any doubts.

Whilst we hope we are wrong, we can imagine such an attack taking place which will cost the lives of around 2000 people. The main targets will be European athletes, but Americans will also be included (just to make sure there is some support at home).

Within 48 hours of the attack we expect to hear a speech from Bush saying that evidence has been found that connects the attack to Iran. Al-Qaeda will of course be the name that appears (as usual), and we will probably hear that a Koran has been found near the explosion and that the passport of some Iranian suicide bomber (that managed to survive the blast) was discovered. Thankfully, terrorist passports are indestructible and can survive exploding planes, towering infernos and just about any other disaster known to man.

Tony Blair will add his 2 cents worth to all of this by saying that the suicide bomber was a known terrorist, who Britain and the US had been watching. Maybe they will produce some video showing the suspect planting the bomb?

It would be nice to think that the public will not fall for this a second time, but they shouldn't have swallowed it the first time, so we shall not be holding our breath.
