Content is a term used to describe the information you provide on your site and plays an important part in getting your pages listed in a good position on the search engines.
Search engines like Google (for example) are not too keen on sites that contain a high percentage of adverts, and like to see a reasonable amount of "content" mixed in.
This can of course be a descriptive explanation of the service or product you are offering, or some information that is informative for the visitor.
Many sites provide free information on a variety of subjects, in order to attract a visitor to their site. This is done in the hope that they will view the rest of the information you are displaying and maybe make a purchase. If you keep such content interesting and fresh, there is a good chance that your visitors will return at a later date.
Whilst a website with lots of pretty images may look nice to you or your visitors, you have to remember that a search engine is not human and can only read the "code" that is displayed on your pages (with the exception of some flash images). By all means include images on your site, but try not to overdo it.
Content does not have to be limited to your own site, you can place this on other people's sites (with a link to yours). This can be done in a newsletter, press release or in an article.
We realise that not everyone likes writing, or possess the grammatical skills to compose a piece without errors. Sadly, simple mistakes can produce a very negative response from visitors, who assume that your service or products may be equally flawed.
To avoid this problem we can edit the information you wish to display (before it is published), or write the content for you, using the information you provide.
