In an attempt to stop certain people using new websites for spamming purposes, most of the major Search Engines will place restrictions on a new site for at least 6 months. Although it may be listed on their engine, the content (information) provided may not appear in any searches.
To overcome this initial handicap, it is necessary to promote your site in other ways for the first few months. This can be achieved by getting mentioned on sites that do not have this restriction (smaller search engines and links on relevant sites). The more "links" you have (sites advertising your website's address), the quicker you will appear on the major search engines.
You can also try to get included on Press Releases/News articles. Sometimes this is possible without any cost, but usually there is a small fee. If your site offers something of value, many visitors will "bookmark" your site. This means saving the address of your site so that they can find it more easily next time.
The key to a successful site is the service, product or content that you provide, and letting people know what you have requires certain skills when designing your pages.
More about this can be found in the "Content" section and is something that many site owners are unaware of. There are quite a few companies that can offer to "optimise" your site (make it more attractive to search engines in the hope of gaining more visitors) and their fees can be very high. However, we can offer advice in this area (that will enable you to do this for yourself) at a fraction of the cost.
Our company is able to offer you a variety of options to help promote your site, so please contact us to find out more.
