Jeb Bush's son charged for being
drunk and resisting arrest
(17.09.2005)
John
(Jebby) Ellis Bush, 21, the youngest son of Florida Gov. Jeb Bush
(and the President's nephew), was arrested yesterday and charged with
public intoxication and resisting arrest.
He was later released on a $2,500 bond for the resisting arrest
charge, and on a personal recognizance bond for the public intoxication
charge.
Jeb Bush told reporters later at a museum reception in Miami "My
sons doing fine" and that Its a private matter and
added "..Im not going to discuss it on the public square
with 30 cameras"
Just over two and a half years ago his daughter, Noelle Bush,
was also arrested and accused of trying to obtain the anti-anxiety
drug Xanax with a fraudulent prescription. The drug charges against
her were dropped after she completed a drug rehabilitation program.
Florida Gov. Bush's family have often had problems with the law,
Jeb Bush Jr. was caught a few years ago with an an underaged female
in a vehicle (both were naked from the waist down). On another occasion
(according to reports) George P. Bush broke into the bedroom window
of a former girlfriend, and though he eventually fled the scene, he
later returned to drive his Ford Explorer across the family's lawn.
Noelle
Bush has reportedly received at least seven speeding tickets, committed
five other traffic violations and been involved in numerous car accidents.
In late 2001, Jeb Bush's wife (Columba Bush) told the press that
it is the duty of parents and adults to teach youths to avoid drugs.
Sadly, the values that they preach to others, doesn't seem to apply
to their own family.
It has been said that one of Jeb Bush's sons is being groomed
for the Presidency in the future, and why not? His uncle had a drinking
problem when he was younger, but that didn't stop him becoming president.
