William Bennett - killing unborn
black babies will reduce crime!
(01.10.2005)
Former
Republican Education Secretary William Bennett has caused a storm
over his remark that aborting every black baby in the United States
would reduce the crime rate.
As usual, when these people with extreme thinking have their words
published, they always claim that their words were taken out of context.
William Bennett said on his "Morning in America" show
"But I do know that it's true that if you wanted to reduce crime,
you could, if that were your sole purpose, you could abort every black
baby in this country, and your crime rate would go down". He
added that this would be "an impossible, ridiculous and morally
reprehensible thing to do, but your crime rate would go down"
How on earth can this be taken out of context? The man is clearly
a racist and confirms that the Ku Klux Klan mentality is still alive
and well in America.
White House press secretary Scott McClellan said "The president
believes the comments were not appropriate". Not appropriate?
Doesn't that have just a hint of approval in it? Surely, a better
response would be "I am outraged at Mr. Bennett's remarks and
hope that he will make a public apology immediately"
But perhaps we shouldn't be too surprised at the Presidents remarks,
his mother, Barbara Bush, was on a tour of hurricane relief centers
in Houston when she said "And so many of the people in the arena
here, you know, were underprivileged anyway, so this--this (chuckles)
is working very well for them". As many of "them" (the
victims) were black, we can easily guess who she considers to be underprivileged.
Perhaps William Bennett should also consider that if it wasn't
for white people using blacks as slaves in America (which officially
ended in 1865) and restricting their "growth" for many years
afterwards, there wouldn't be any division between blacks and whites.
People with his kind of "superior" thinking have done more
harm to race relations that anything else.
We
feel sure that many people probably think that if certain figures
in our history had been "aborted", the world might be a
better place. Thankfully, such people live in the real world and hope
that such extreme methods will never be needed. William Bennett has
placed fuel on the racialist fire and should pay some penalty for
his remark.
We have heard much about the new laws for "hate crimes",
does this not fall into that category? So far, we have only seen this
used against people who show "hatred" to jews. We feel sure
that this was not introduced solely for that purpose and this would
be a good time to show the public that it is there to protect everyone.
