George Bush - See, "God told
me" to do it!
(07.10.2005)
A
former Palestinian foreign minister, Nabil Shaath, has said that President
George Bush told a Palestinian delegation in 2003 that God spoke to
him and told him to fight in Afghanistan and end the "tyranny"
in Iraq.
White House spokesman (or should we say disciple?) Scott McClellan
called the claims "absurd" and these are to appear in a
BBC documentary later this month.
This is not the first time God has spoken to George Bush, according
to some reports, but McClellan said "..I've been in many meetings
with him and never heard such a thing"
Nabil Shaath apparently told the makers of the documentary that
Bush had said to all of them "I'm driven with a mission from
God. God would tell me, George, go and fight those terrorists in Afghanistan,
and I did, and then God would tell me, George, go and end the tyranny
in Iraq, and I did"
Of course, if God is the peace loving person that the Bible and
religious people tell us, would he really instruct anyone to go to
a country and kill innocent civilians? And would any God trust such
a mission to someone like Bush?
Maybe
there is another reason? We all know how Bush hates to accept the
blame for his actions, perhaps he thinks by blaming God he has presented
the ultimate "buck pass"?
It is one thing for a person to believe in a superior being (even
though there is no proof that such a being exists), but when they
start claiming they are actually talking to this person, it is time
to start looking for the straight-jacket!
All we can say is "We don't care what your name is, you are
not walking on our swimming pool!". Yes, we know, it's an old
joke!
