Bolide or UFO, and those helicopters again!

Our second report from Michael Lawrie Sr concerns the sighting of a Bolide or perhaps a UFO Crash?

Back some years ago, as I sat on the front porch one evening, I had the good fortune to see a bolide. It was an amazing sight. I saw a large object all aflame going through the sky at low altitude. The flame was white near the front and near the middle it looked green on the bottom tapering out to a yellow flame, tapering out to nothing..just blackness.

The size looked like it was about 40 or 50 feet in diameter. I must admit it was hard to judge a size since it was all flame. It looked very close and traveled from the southern end of the valley towards the northern end. I thought it was a meteor but the Oneonta newspaper said it was a bolide the next morning.

It attracted some attention. Low and behold the papers said it landed in Canada. It would never had made more that 50 miles at the angle I recall. I wonder why the air force had a large C-140 four jet or turbo prop air craft fly at a scary tree top level up the creek about 400 feet below the mountain tops. I didn't notice the plane until it turned it's idling engines up as they sort of make that screaming sounds as they strain to power the heavy craft up to flight speed and then cut them off again to maintain and not to gain altitude. Yea, it was the first time I ever witnessed them doing that in all my years before. They sure weren't looking for bolides. lol

Though many people saw some of the choppers none of the pilots stopped in to help me cut the grass either. Not even the one that flew down to hover in front of me like this one did (see photo above). He was only 10 or 20 feet in the air. I couldn't hear him over my lawn mower. That is, until I thought my mower was making a funny racket and I shut it off. The sound of the chopper made me look up then and see the chopper which was only seconds from a touch down and facing me. I was quite surprised. I ran to the house to get my camera, a Minolta 3000 35 mm film with a 300mm zoom lens on it, and shot this photo as he departed. It was obvious he wanted me to see him. Why? There are hundreds of people who cut grass seven days a week. Why did he come down to watch me? You tell me.
